RoS Regular Season : Official Rules

Signups end on Saturday the 18th. The draft will occur Sunday 19th at 10 pm eastern.

      Money
At the end of the playoffs, the top player of the winning team receives 10$ via paypal, and the captain receives 10$. Players who sign up may pay an optional league entry fee of 4$ which is contributed to the pot. The pot is divided evenly among the top player and the captain of the winning team. The top player is the one who earned the most points for their team (aside from the captain) in the finals. (example, if players pay the optional entry fee, and 100 dollars sit in the pot, then 50$ go to the top non-captain player and captain of the winning team)

      Signups
In order to sign up, you need the following information. You need to post your bnet account, that you have read, and agree to follow the rules, and whether you would like to apply to be a judge or a captain. If you don’t want to apply for captain or judge, you are expected to post nothing regarding what you are signing up for, as it’s obviously in order to be a free agent. If you would like to make a donation, or pay the league entry fee, it is to be stated.

Example: TkO-SOLAR, I have read and accept the rules, I would like to apply to be a judge and/or a captain. I pledge to donate 20$ to the pot via paypal.
Everyone that posts using this format will be placed on the free agent list.

      Drafts
There will be one captain designated for every five free agents that sign up. Captains are chosen via first come first serve, but captain requests may be rejected by league officials. There may not be more than eight captains, so once 40 people sign up, there will be teams larger than five members.

Tuesday the 14th will be the day captains take turns drafting their people. The order will be as follows.
      1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 1 2 … et cetera.
The initial order will be determined randomly by lottery.

Every captain must attend Tuesday at ten pm eastern, and if they cannot attend, they must have a list of the draftees in the order in which they want them submitted via PM to SOLAR. During the live draft, a judge will call out the pick for the team, based on the list of the captain’s choices, and who’s still available.

      Trades
For the first five days after the first day of league games, captains may freely trade members with each other by posting on the trades section of the league forum. After the fifth day, players may continue to be traded, however both players in addition to both captains have to agree to do the trade.

      Earning Points
Each team that wins a game earns two points for their team. The points are earned when a recording is uploaded and linked on the forum. The video is only valid if there is a lat + gamma check before the first kill, the video is at least 8 fps (preferably higher though), and posted by both players on the winning team. The losing team is not required to post.

The player who participated in the least amount of games for each team earns one point for each game they have played for the team at the end of the regular season. (example: players 1, 2, 3, and 4 participated in ten games each, and player five played in two games. This would earn the team two points.) If more than one player is tied in the least games played, then this number is only counted once. Points are not earned this way for a team with less than four members. (The reason this rule exists, is to benefit teams that have their whole roster playing games)

      Subtracting Points
At the end of the season, a team loses 2 points for each member on their team who didn’t participate in the league.

At the end of the season, a team loses 2 points for each member less than 4 on the team. (If there are two members on a team, they lose 4 points)

Every time a player posts an insufficient or incorrect post, they are penalized one point for making the judges do extra work. (Example, forgets to post the opponent’s names on the forum post)

If a team posts incorrect data in their own favor, their team is penalized 2 points, and the player is warned. If a player does this two times, they are banned from the league for the season.

At the end of the season, a team loses 2 points for every team they've neglected to face.

      Reflag Rules
In order to reflag, the flag must be returned before the ally shoots the respawn. At the end of the half, or at the end of the game, if there is less than 30 game seconds remaining, players are not expected to progress up the map, if they are not holding a flag. A player may not hold the flag near their return spot and wait for the ally to flag, unless their ally is in the enemy base vision. If this rule is broken, it will be treated as a sit.

      Sit Rules
Any player who sits in a game and wins by no less than 20 points ends the game with a draw. A sit is defined as having knowledge of the enemy’s position, and not advancing towards the flag, or towards the enemy sniper. If there are 2 sits, the team with the infractions must win by 50 points. Any more sits result in an automatic loss for the team.
(example : at the start of the game, a cold player runs up the middle and waits in the mid glitch. Team hot runs down the left path, and neither player sees the cold player. It is NOT a sit for the hot team to run upwards to vis the middle.)
(Example 2: hot player 1 and 2 kill cold player 4 and 5 in the team hot base vision. Cold player 4 and 5 respawn, run up the map, and player 1 and 2 are still near their base vision without having advanced up the map. This is a sit.)
(Example 3: player 1 and 2 run down the mid and left path, and neither opponent is seen. The hot player that ran down the mid path runs back up and checks the far right path for an enemy, and then shoots a cold player preparing to run into the bv for a flag. This is not a sit, because the player actively searched for the opponent)

Players are encouraged to check their own replays for sits, because from either players point of view, it’s impossible to detect a sit, unless the replay is reviewed. Oftentimes, it appears like the enemy sat, when they have actually searched for the opponent, while their pner was flagging. If you think a sit or a camp occurred, press the print screen button to take a screen shot, and after the game, check the ss to see when it took place to review it.

      Camping Rules
A camp is a shot on an rs which was unnecessary for the flag. Dancing and stopping is perfectly acceptable, if the shot would have needed to occur in order to get the flag. It is a camp if it would have been possible to grab the flag without the shot, but as a result of indirect movement, the shot appeared necessary. A close call is to be judged in favor of the person shooting at the respawn, if they are the flagger, and in favor of the person respawning if the shooter is not a flagger. If an unintentional camp occurs, the player may allow the enemy to shoot them. If the camp is deemed intentional, by the sole discretion of the judge, then the team with the infraction must win by no less than 20 points, or else the game is ruled a draw. If they lose, then a loss is still the result.

      Judging
If a player questions a play, they must report the match to a judge, with the time in the game of the infraction(s). Up to two sits, and two camps may be reviewed per claim. If any of the claims are deemed as ridiculous by a judge, the claiming team loses a point for their team. If any of the claims are infractions, the team with the infraction receives the penalty as previously mentioned in the rules. If the plays were questionable, but ruled as legit play, then the team is not penalized for the accusation. The legitimacy of the claim is at the sole discretion of the judge. All rulings are final, even if disputable. If a judge abuses their privileges, they are removed from their duty as judge, and their team is fined five points.

      Captain’s Privelages
The team captain may : Trade players with other teams within the first five days. If after the first 5 days, they must have both captains and both player’s consent to make the trade. One captain may sell players to another team in exchange for points, if both captains and the player agree. This type of trade may not occur until the 6th day. A captain may also trade off two players for one if their team has at least 5 members.

Captains can kick players off their team who have sat or camped 4 or more times total. They may also kick players off their team who have not played any games within seven days. In no case, may a player be kicked from a team if there are three or less people on a team. Players who paid the optional signup fee are immune to being banned.

Any kicked member is sent to the free agent market.

All players who are not drafted, kicked from a team, or who sign up after the draft get sent to the free agent market. During the halfway mark, free agents are drafted.

      Limits
No player may participate in more than three games per day.
No team may have more than 10 snipers
No team may have less than 3 snipers

      Cash Benefits
      1. People who pay the fee are placed at the top of the free agent list
      2. People who pay the fee have first dibs for the captain position, or judge position, if they are qualified.
      3. People who pay the fee are immune to being kicked from their team by their captain.
      4. People who pay the fee are allowed to post up to three replays instead of videos for three of their wins. (non-finals)
      5. If you pay the fee, and are not drafted, you may choose what team you join after the draft ends! This also holds true for the mid season draft!

      Strategy
      1. Play a lot of games! You don’t lose points for losing games, and you gain points for winning!
      2. Make sure all of the members of the team play. Even if you have members that lose all their games, your team still earns one point for each game the player with the least games played participates in!
      3. Trade players with other teams to put good partners in the same squad for optimal teamwork.
      4. Make sure to play on your designated day! The games are worth more points, and there’s a penalty for both teams that don’t participate!

      Statkeeping
Officials will periodically check the forums, and keep an excel spreadsheet with each name in the league, in the order of their squads. Officials will post the spreadsheet, and update the list on the forum every few days.

      Scheduling
After the 5th day, a schedule will be posted, where each team is assigned an opponent on certain days. All games vs this opponent on this day are worth twice as much (4 pts per win), and if a game isn’t played where the teams face each other, both teams are penalized one point.
