Bot's are not hacks - bots are just clientless emulated game clients with certain bonus features specific to whatever the bot is for.
Hacks on the other hand are usually injected into the game client itself and modify memory locations and or other things which exploit the game.

No I'm not familiar of how aim bot worked, i recall fleet- making it though. But with that sort of thinking of whoever uses bots uses hacks then people using chat bots, name bots, op bots, etc, are all hack users according to this sort of thinking. That would make everyone loading a bot for ops or chat fall into that category.
I don't know who Bang is, I'm just trying to explain to you how that gamelist spammer isn't considered a "hack". And there is no point in explaining without people having knowledge of programming or the bnet protocol or have a good idea of bots.


And after reading about aim bot or sniper assist, it doesn't emulate anything - they just gave it the name "aimbot" just because its easier to tell what it is rather than "aimhack". And all its doing is SendKeys() "A" all around the sniper location or something simple like that. Not a bot at all but a considered hack.

Spambot floodbot, load bot, those are the ones that are frowned upon. That bot, is a spambot, with the ability to put other people names on it, just a client with a spoofer and spoofers are frowned upon.

Sorry, I don't have 10 years worth of battle net programming, but obviously a bot like that has no use other then to try and deliberately make other believe that the player has done something wrong. "Advertising"... really?.. Notice how back a few weeks ago, we had all those "click here and get dropped" games. Are you telling me those aren't hacks?
