Why doesn't my SC open?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a tech wiz by any stretch of the imagination. But whenever I double click my little starcraft broodwar icon, i get a little blue loading circle by my cursor (normal) for like 1 second, and then nothing at all happens. I've tried opening it from the start menu, moving the icon and trying to open it, using the enter key with the icon selected, and tried opening it through iCCup in normal and window mode. But nothing happens, like my computer doesn't even sound like it's trying to open the file like it normally does.

I'm assuming you have either vista or windows 7.

Right click your Starcraft icon.
Go to Properties
Compatibility
Check the box to run the program in compatibility for Windows 98/ME

Right click Starcraft again and click Run as Administrator.

If starcraft still doesn't show up..
Close any browsers you have open. If I have a Firefox window open, my Starcraft will minimize and not show up.
(Ctrl + alt + delete) to bring up your Task Manager and see if Starcraft.exe is on the application/processes. If so then end task and try to restart the program.

If still a no go, scan your computer. I recommend Malwarebytes (for spyware/malware) and the anti-virus Avira AntiVir.

That didn't work, but I'm downloading those two things, thanks a lot!

Can't edit - Downloaded both of those programs and ran them, still can't open SC.

Alright, just completely uninstalled and then reinstalled SC and Broodwar, but still it won't open. Anyone else have any ideas?

You can try downloading Starcraft through Battle.net.

Go to Battle.net and set up an account if don't have one.
Go to Manage Games > Add or Upgrade a Game
Enter your Starcraft key and download the game.

I think I'm out. Unless someone else can figure out how to fix this, guess I'm done with SC haha
